Commander Keith Wooldridge called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

Adopt-A-Road: Good turn out, got a whole bag of trash. Good turnout.
Membership/Buddy Poppy: 735 Life, 10 New, 12 Reinstate, 145 Continuous, 902 Total, 86.81% membership, $298.23 in Buddy Poppy Sales.
Building: Heater successfully removed from managers office. Lights on back deck need work. Check steps for safety in foul weather.
Land & Rec: Grass still green. Water faucet in one space damaged. Site 1.
House: Nothing great to report. $1,000 turned over to Post. 3 members missing lastmeeting.
Golf:
VOD/Youth Essay: Entries judged. 3 on to District. Three of the entries went to Department for judging on the 15th. 1 VOD entry won District. 330 entries among the categories.
Trustees: First part of January will be end of year audit.
Fundraising: poker doing well, 50/50 won by Annie Moyer.
Surgeon/Hospital: 31 pints donated. Some hospital gear still being taken.
Safety: Current storm discussed. Carpet near bar needs repair. Wrinkles need to be addressed.
Upcoming Events: 19th, Senior Christmas Dinner, Christmas dinner the 25th, 31st is New Years Eve Party. Dec 4th at City Council meeting for Pearl Harbor declaration. Dec 7th remembrance at Fleet Reserve. Midwinter Convention is in January. Bus transportation planned.

Unfinished Business:
Discussion of Home Depot Grant held. Grant will be a maximum of $3,000. Post must cover the cost over what the grant is. Motion made and seconded that the floor be redone. Motion amended to specify the canteen floor.
Motion made and seconded to raise the scholarships from $750 to $1000. Motion made and seconded to table motion until the next meeting to gather more information. Discussion held, and the original motion passed.
Nominations open for Junior Vice Commander. None.
New license for gambling must be submitted by 2 January. Kinkle may not be able to get license due to upcoming possible conflict of interest as he is planning on running for Post Commander. Mike Perchowski has volunteered to get the license.
New Business:
Christmas baskets were discussed. Motion made to buy 15 Christmas baskets at $50 each for a total of $750.00. Stan Gearheart will deliver the baskets. Motion seconded. Motion passed. Delivery planned for Saturday the 22nd. Volunteers needed to assist him.
Land & Rec would like to purchase three yards of sand for winter use. Price is $86.00 delivered. Believes money is available. Motion made to use top 14 parking spots along the tree line for $50 per month during the months of 30 Sep to 1 May. Max length is 30 feet. Must have current insurance, tags, and be able to be moved upon notice. No living on the spaces. Restrictions must be placed on the vehicle to ensure junk yard doesn’t develop. Post Commander would like to see more research until next meeting. Motion tabled until next meeting.
Canteen Manager would like to get a $400 advance to reserve the band, and pay monies back as tickets sell. Motion seconded and passed.

Driver and van has been volunteered for duty driver at New Years Eve party.
Many flags in the area touching ground. Needs to be addressed.
Possibility of a plaque for the 1 student that has been in the VOD program since the day he was eligible to the day he became ineligible. Skip will take for action to investigate price of the plaque locally.
Pins for sale for $2.00.
Past Commander Pierce read a news clip from the Channel 4 news. A Ken Schramm report was about an Honor Guard to escort a fallen comrade and the disgracefull conduct TSA used to deal with these men.
He also brought to light the acts of Denzel Washington in providing funding for a Veterans home in Texas. May be called the Fisher house.
