For Meeting Held May 3, 2010 at 1900.
Commander Pete Sill called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.
Roll call of Officers: 14 Present, 2 Absent, 3 Excused, 4 additional members present.

Minutes of April 2010 were read and accepted with one correction.
Quartermasters report read and accepted.
Service Officers report: 32 clients, 220 miles, for April. 1 Very successful client.

Ron Cass undergoing treatment, seems to be improving.

Committee Reports:
Adopt a Road: 5 people turned out. Road cleaned. 10-12 bags. Remember, first Saturday of the month.
Membership/Buddy Poppy: 725 Life, 51 new, 13 reinstatements, 167 continuous, 956 total for 98.56% from last year. 14 needed for 100%.
Building: Plumbing estimates are still coming in. Repairs done to men's restroom and women's restroom. Suggestion was made to replace three toilets on one line.
Land & Rec: Still need volunteers. Machine back from tune-up.
House: 1 absent last meeting. House committee changed rule 5, 18 and under must be out by 2000.
Trustees: Audit done. balanced to the penny.
Fundraising: 50/50 is over $717.00. Breakfast went well, 84 last month. Turned in $232. Poker turned in $200 to Quartermaster.
Surgeon/Hospital: No report, new surgeon has been briefed.
VOD/Youth Essay: No report
Safety: No report
Chaplain: Held services for Comrade Brewer.
VFW Motorcycle Group: No report
Golf: 17 July will be the date of this years tournament. Format and entry fee will be the same. Fee is $50 by July 9th, $60 after that date.

Unfinished business:
Quartermaster reported on way to reduce costs of phones and internet. Price with Comcast for phones and internet will be $149.95. Motion made (Kinkel) to accept proposal from Comcast, seconded by Pierce. Motion made to accept Comcast bid. Seconded by Meredith. Passed.
Ben Bunnell reported on the Rifle purchase. Gun has been ordered and will arrive via Greens Gun Shop. Motion made to offer 1,000 tickets at $20 each. Seconded. Motion to amend the motion to end the drawing on December 15th. Seconded. Second amendment motion made to sell until all tickets are gone, regardless of duration. Seconded. Original motion passed with amendment number one, Dec 15 deadline.
Ben Bunnell reported that the Home Depot Grants can not be given to fraternal organizations for personal use.
ATM machine can not be sold due to internal codes that cannot be removed without disabling the machine. Motion made and seconded to destroy the cards and scrap the machine. Passed. Skip will remove and destroy the circuit boards and the rest will be scrapped.
Plumbing issues. Three bids were received. Top Dog for $3800, Harbor Mechanics $2975, and Scotties $1485. Motion made and seconded to accept one of the submitted bids. Motion to amend the motion to accept Harbor Mechanics. Seconded. Motion and amendment passed by hand vote 9 yeas, 4 nays.
New Business:
DVD’s for Soldiers program requested a donation to continue operations. Motion made and seconded to donate $50. Passed
Motion made to allow camp sites to be reserved during special events. Seconded. Motion failed.
Motion made to allow the Commander to nominate the correct number of delegates to the Department Convention. Seconded. Passed.
Lynden Post is selling the building. Motion made to purchase specific equipment from the kitchen, if offered, not to exceed $300. Seconded. Passed.

Dianne Small running for Department President. Fund raiser to be held on June 12 at the VFW.
