For Meeting Held March 1, 2010 at 1900.
Prior to the meeting, presentations were made to some of the winners of the Patriot’s Pen and VOD winners.
Commander Pete Sill called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

Quartermasters report read and accepted.
Service Officers report: 34 claims, 140 miles, 64 hours for January.

Committee Reports:
Adopt a Road: This Saturday is the cleanup, report to the Post at 0900.
Membership/Buddy Poppy: 724 Life, 36 new, 9 reinstatements, 154 continuous, 938 total for 95.15% from last year. 32 needed for 100%. Poppy distribution program will be done March 3, 1200-1600. Safeway, Market Foods, and Albertsons. Letters to be sent to unpaid members this month. No signups yet for Buddy Poppy on Wednesday.
Building: Caught up except for the roof.
Land & Rec: List will be posted for mowing of the lawns. Volunteers needed.
House: All members present at last meeting. New information is being received for new accounting system. More information to come. Managers agreement reviewed. $1500 turned over to Quartermaster.
Trustees: This Post received highest grade in town for Gambling Commission review.
Fundraising: 50/50 is over $500.00. Breakfast went well, 99 last month. Turned in $358 this month, should be better this month. Poker turned in $496 to Quartermaster.
Surgeon/Hospital: March 20 is next blood drive.
VOD/Youth Essay: Rest of the certificates being delivered shortly. Several good winners. Approximately 12 winners went to Department or National.
Safety: Tsunami warning discussed.
Chaplain: Made visit to Careage, held ceremony for Richard Carroll.
VFW Motorcycle Group: Bylaws are complete, patches in work, 12 current members.
Golf: 17 July will be the date of this years tournament. Format and entry fee will be the same. Fee is $50 by July 9th, $60 after that date.

Winner was Rochelle Pasco, donated back to building fund.
Unfinished business:
New bid still coming for plumbing. No bid yet. Tabled.
Sign bid still pending. Estimates are $359 each for two signs from Anchor Signs,
Estimate from Skagit Valley Signs for $438 each. Motion made to accept sign bid from Anchor signs by Kinkel, seconded by Hollett. Motion passed.
Quartermaster reported on way to reduce costs of phones and internet. Price with Comcast for phones and internet will be $149.95. Motion made (Kinkel) to accept proposal for Comcast, seconded by Pierce. Tabled until next month until representative can be available for discussion. Will be in April due to the ceremonies prior to the meeting tonight.
New Business:
ATM – Rep from Portland came up to review unit and gave estimates. Current unit is 8-9 years old. Original cost was $8-9,000. New unit would be $2,250 and may include two-year maintenance contract. Motion made (Kinkel), seconded (Wooldridge) to purchase new unit with both upgrades. ATM has close to $6000 dollars. Motion passed.
General orders necessary for the election were read, especially regarding the Trustees, and member eligibility..

Flyer passed around from Henry Rifle Company. Motion made to purchase rifle, 22 long rifle version, (Bunnell), seconded Kinkel. Price of the gun is $1200, to be raffled off. Recent raffle in Montana Post made $12,000 on a raffle, with $20 tickets. Motion passed.
Motion made to reimburse Jr. Vice for expenses related to essay contest.

National Aide De Camp has been bestowed upon Crandall, Medal of Honor recipient. He is a Post member.

2009 tax information submitted will be done this month.
Department Commander pins available for $5 per set.
Sports memorabilia discussed. Motion made (Cunningham) seconded Hollet, that seller provide appraised value for next meeting.
Thank you given by member for maintaining the Post for past years. Also volunteered to provide potato salad and beans for possible crab feed as money raiser.
