For Meeting Held 6 July 2009 at 1900.
Commander Pete Sill called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.
Roll call of Officers: 14 Present, 4 absent (all excused).
Distinguished Visitors: District 15 Commander Darrel Small, District 15 Senior Vice Commander Keith Wooldridge, Former District 15 Commander Cecil Pierce, Department Buddy Poppy Chairman Chris Kinkle.
New Members: David Rook, Paul Bryant, Richard Schacht, Ross Sterling, Tim Corley, Stuart Ripley, James Malodonnel

New Life Members: None
Motion made and seconded to accept new members.
Initiation of new members: None
Minutes of 1 June 2009 meeting read and accepted with no amendments.
Quartermasters report read and accepted with no amendments.
Service Officers report: 31 claims and consultations. Medically retired members with less than 20 years of service will see a modification in their pay starting FY 2010. More changes to come later after issue is visited again by the House and Senate.
Member or family members in distress: Irene Gearhart going through Chemotherapy.

Committee Reports:
Adopt a Road: Good turnout, truck load of trash picked up.
Membership/Buddy poppy: 98.28 % as of 6 Jul 2009, total 970 members; $10 from Poppy sales.
Building: All names for honor boards should be done this month.
Land & Rec: More than $1800 brought in from camp ground. Commander Sill brought up the point of NOT watering the grass in the middle of the day. Comrade Wooldridge brought up dogs.
House: No money from canteen. Gas line claim approved, check in coming. $340 from breakfast, serving 83 people.
Golf: 51 entries, 45 paid. Les Schwab donated $100. Donations also from Army, Navy, Air Force and some small businesses.
Trustees: Quarterly audit will be accomplished as soon as all receipts are in and finalized.
Fundraising: 50/50 won by Don Zimmer. Poker tournament Sunday, 12 July 2009. Possibility of having a fireworks stand was brought up by Darrell Small. Meeting 50/50 won by Chris Kinkel, donated $15 to building fund.
Surgeon/Hospital: Good turnout for blood drive - 30 Pints of blood collected. Next one is scheduled for October 3, 2009. Scheduling did not permit one for an earlier date.
Safety: No Report.
Break
Unfinished business:
1. Letter sent to Brian Dale, no response. Gary Cosper installed as 2-year Trustee.
2. No further changes to by-laws. Tabled until next month.
3. Gary Cosper: 9-11 GI Bill information will be posted in the lobby.
New Business:
1. 2-year house committee member elections. Dan Ryals.
2. No meetings held in the canteen. All meetings should be held in designated meeting rooms.
3. Darrell Small brought up the issue of getting a debit card for the Post for ease of purchasing things from District. Darrell Small made the motion and Cecil Pierce seconded. Discussion followed, votes were cast, motion passed unanimously.
Good of the Order:
1. Vietnam Traveling wall leaving Smoky Point July 8 and is heading to Bellingham 11-12 July.
2. Donation requests were presented by Commander Sill
a. Kieth Wooldridge made a motion to donate $250 to the MAP program, Seconded by Cecil Pierce. No discussion, votes taken, motion passed with 2 nay votes.
3. Darrell Small brought up the rest stop coffee stop manning. Next date to man is Aug 14-17, southbound and then September 4-8 southbound.
4. Gary Cosper and Ben Bunnell awarded one of three Award of Merit awards by Cecil Pierce.
5. Cecil Pierce read other awards presented at the District Convention:
a. Doug Tyler awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for services as Chaplain.
b. Post received several awards.
Closing ceremonies were held at 2010.
