For Meeting Held 2 Feb 2009 at 1900.

 

Commander Chris Kinkel called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

 

Roll call of Officers: 8 Present, 2 Absent, 2 excused.

 

Distinguished Visitors: District 15 Commander Cecil Pierce and many other district officers who are also Post 7392 Members.

 

New Members: Richard Westhoff, Anthony Miller, Larry Pritz

 

Reinstatement: None

 

Transfers: None

 

New Life Members: None

 

Motion made and seconded to accept new members.

 

Initiation of new members: Scott Dyche

 

Minutes of 2 March 2009 meeting read and accepted with no amendments.

 

Quartermasters report read and accepted with no amendments

 

Service Officers report read.

 

Member or family members in distress: None

 

Committee Reports:

Adopt a Road: Three people showed up on 19 Jan.

 

Membership/Buddy poppy: 727 Life, 4 New, 11 Reinstatements, 150 Continuous, 94.12%. No report on Buddy Poppies.

 

Building: Roof is leaking in the foyer, will be looked at as soon as weather breaks.

 

Land & Rec: Motion was made, seconded and approved for problem guest to leave. Commander will advise guest.

 

House: Post equipment not for personal use (tables, chairs, etc.) To be used for Post, Auxiliary and official use only. Manager agreement under review by manager. An incident in the canteen prompted a motion made and seconded to ban Donna Smith permanently from the canteen. Motion passed.

 

Golf: Report requests $500 for advance deposit for tournament in July. Motion was made, seconded and approved.

 

VOD/Youth Essay: All done except passing out certificates. Discussed payouts. Commander, Senior Vice, Junior Vice and Quartermaster will meet and decide.

 

Safety: Hwy 20 construction still the topic of discussion, specifically reminding all about lane closures.

 

Trustees: Audit was done, books balanced perfectly and report was sent to Department.

 

Fundraising: Breakfast brought in $280, turned over to QM. January poker brought in $421, 50/50 is up to $237

 

Surgeon/Hospital: Blood drive will start Monday, March 3rd.

Upcoming events: Valentine Dinner 14 Feb. Reserve seats by Feb 7th. Texas Hold ‘em, Post Breakfast, District 15 meeting will be Feb 8th.

 

Unfinished business: None

 

New Business:

  1. Boy Scout Troop 59 needs money to help repair their building. Motion was made and seconded to donate $100 to the cause – motion passed. Commander will advise they can also have our cans for recycling.
  2. Veteran’s appreciation event will be held Feb 28th, meetings to follow. Assistance will be needed.
  3. Senior Vice Cdr Pete Sill brought up an article in VFW magazine about updating post attitudes to bring them more to a family oriented organization.
  4. Janitor is not getting job done. Discussion ensued and it was determined that it was within the responsibilities of the Manager to inform him of what needs to be done and has the authority to do what is necessary to ensure those duties are carried out.
  5. Nominations for officers start in March.

 

Good of the Order:

  1. District Commander Cecil Pierce awarded the Jason Award to Post 7392.

 

Closing ceremonies were held at 2020.
