Commander Chris Kinkel called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

Quartermasters report read and accepted.
Service Officers report: 32 claims filed, 20 counseling sessions. This Post #1 in State for claims processed.

Committee Reports
Adopt-A-Road: Clean up scheduled for 13 September. 9 AM.
Membership/Buddy Poppy: 722 Life, 9 New, 2 Reinstatements, 71 Continuous, 804, 81.46 percent. Buddy Poppy sales to be scheduled.
Building: Need someone to reinstall dishwasher and water heater. Pete 2 has full time job now.
Land & Rec: No report. Questions raised regarding weed control on perimeter.
House: Turned over $2500.00. Janitorial services to be supervised by canteen manager, but paid for by Post. Passed by House committee.
Golf: No report
VOD/Youth Essay: In progress.
Trustees: No report.
Fundraising: Breakfast earned $303 to Quartermaster, need more volunteers. Texas Hold ‘Em backed up a week due to District meeting and personnel shortage. 50/50 at about $323.
Surgeon/Hospital: Over $7000 of gear donated total. 24 pints collected last weekend.
Safety: No report.
Upcoming Events: Breakfast Sept 28th. MAPPS Military Appreciation Picnic on 20th.
Check has been received from National for expenses for same. POW/MIA ceremonies on 19 September.

Request made to have Service Officer request removal of vehicle from Parking lot.
Motion made to increase the mileage for reimbursement for travel to $0.40 per mile.

Motion made to take Canteen references out of the bylaws except for duties of the House Committee. Seconded. Discussed. Tabled. Bylaws review meeting scheduled for August 19th. Executive board will hold discussion. Motion and second withdrawn.
Dishwasher cannot be installed. New one will cost $3,159.91 Motion made and seconded for discussion. Need to find out if on board water heater. Tabled. Withdrawn motion and second.

Motion made to research cost of mountings for two donated flags. Motion seconded. Passed. Gary Cosner has for action. Cost at Gene’s Paints approx. $500.00. Space for display discussed. Possibly where jukebox is when it is removed. More investigation required.
Canteen is a sponsor for the Oyster Run Sept. Pete Sill made motion made to allow non-members to tent camp in campground Sept 26,27 for this event. Pete Sill will be on hand as Police. Seconded by Skip, passed.

New Business :
Bylaws change proposal read. Only the changes are to be read. Slight discussion held.
Banner purchased for Military Appreciation Day. Cost should be about $65 per Post, Aux, and Post. Motion made to absorb Post share of sign. Seconded by Keith for discussion. Passed.
Pete Sill made a motion made to drop requirement for DD214 or Page 4 upon joining as per National membership rules. Those documents are to be required prior to becoming an elected official only. Seconded by Gary Cosner. Discussion held. Passed.
