Commander Keith Wooldridge called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

Roll call of Officers: 12 present, 1 excused, 2 absent, 1 vacant, 1 additional members.

Minutes of Dec 3 meeting read and accepted.

Quartermasters report read.  Motion made and seconded to accept report.  Passed.

Service Officers report: Here on Saturdays and Mondays.

Dave Hollets Grandmother passed away.

Committee Reports

Adopt-A-Road:  19th will be next cleanup.  Road needs help.  Snow date not available.

Membership/Buddy Poppy: 735 Life, 11 New, 13 Reinstate, 158 Continuous, 917 Total, 88.26% membership, $0 in Buddy Poppy Sales. 

Building: Pete Sill plans paint project on 19th, finish 20th

Land & Rec: Grass is green due to rain.

House: Manager turned in $2,000.  Managers contract will be discussed next meeting.

Golf: 144 max, 19th of July, picnic, etc.  Motion made, seconded, passed to allow $500 seed money for the tournament setup.

VOD/Youth Essay: Certificates will be delivered in February.  VOD winner will be here for presentation in February.  Youth Essay winners were announced.  3 entries went to State level.  VOD award will be given at State.

Trustees: Will attempt to do audit on the 11th

Fundraising: Poker tournament next week, breakfast on Sunday the 27th, 50/50 drawing going well, approx $80 in pool.

Surgeon/Hospital: Blood drive 1 March.  Brian is in charge, Quartermaster will assist.

Safety: No report

 

Upcoming Events: Texas Hold ‘Em, Ladies Aux dinner, Sunday breakfast.

No Life member drawing.

50/50 drawing won by Stan Gearheart.  Donated to the x fund. 

Unfinished Business:

Motion made to use top 14 parking spots along the tree line for $50 per month during the months of 30 Sep to 1 May.  Max length is 30 feet.  Must have current insurance, tags, and be able to be moved upon notice.  No living on the spaces.  Seconded.  Passed.

Discussion of Home Depot Grant held.  Grant turned down due to overwhelming requests and limited funds.

Nominations open for Junior Vice Commander.  None.

Possibility of a plaque for the 1 student that has been in the VOD program since the day he was eligible to the day he became ineligible.  If he wins Department, this will be last year.  Cost for trophy at this time is about $60.00.

Motion made to close the Post for half to a full day on Sunday the 20 th as required for painting the canteen area.  Seconded, passed.

Motion made to allow up to $500 painting goods for upcoming painting party. Seconded and passed.

New Business:                  

Discussion of the ropes on the flag poles in front of the building.  Weather has been a contributing factor for the replacement.  Suggestion made to replace with Marine grade rope.  More information requested regarding length and cost of the rope.

Need for more condolence cards for the Chaplin.  No request for funds required, Chaplin will take for action.

Motion made to reimburse $28.82 to Pete for dump run.  Motion seconded.  Motion amended to make total $44.00 to pay for gasoline also. Seconded and passed.

Good Of The Order: None

Flags out front are being torn up due to high winds.  Possibility of sewing the edges.  Ben Bunnell will check on upholsterer he knows for services.

Junior Girls will be camping in lower campground in July.   Motion made to lend the support of the Post.  Seconded, and passed.

Possibility of putting a wall up at the back of the Post meeting room.  Brought up for discussion only at this time.

Thanks given by Stan Gearheart for assistance on food basket deliveries.

Chris Kinkel and Bob Cole thanked for assistance at New Years Eve party as designated drivers.
