Commander Cecil Pierce called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

Committee Reports
Adopt-A-Road: Expanding area put on hold. Current owner wants to keep it. Only two men showed up for clean-up.
Membership/Buddy Poppy: 746 Life, 26 New, 10 Reinstate, 204 Continuous, 986 Total, 95.45% membership, 47 from 100%, 0 in Buddy Poppy Sales.
Building: Cameras installed, TV system being upgraded to Dish vs Direct for $81 monthly savings.
Golf: Tournament is putting along smoothly.
Land & Rec: Grass mowed.
House: Report on oven replacement/disposal. Anyone with NSF checks in collection will be suspended until the checks have been paid.
VOD/Youth Essay: Scheduled with OHHS. School misplaced schedule. Will be completed after Spring Break. Some miss scheduling occurred, will be corrected for presentation of awards. SOP being written for future events. Deadline for applications for scholarships is May 3.
Trustees: Quarterly audit to be held in one week. Gambling commission has not contacted Ben yet, will continue as normal until state provides more direction. Complimented current Manager on bookkeeping and corrections to help Post regain status.
Fundraising: Texas Hold ‘Em in April, Dart Tourney April 21. Next year is members only on Texas Hold ‘Em.
Surgeon/Hospital: 11 pieces of gear out. Blood drive held, 32 units collected. Next drive on 4 June. May donate some of the excess equipment to rehab center. Credit not being given to Post for blood donations. Under investigation. National appears to be the problem.
Upcoming Events: Golf Tournament in July, Dart Tournament April 21, Holland Happening Parade on 28 April (?). Easter egg hunt on 8 April. District meeting here at Post 7392.

Unfinished Business:
Janitorial contract. 1 application received. Motion made and seconded to accept Mike Pierzchala as new janitor. Discussed. Motion passed.
Accounting services discussed. More information to be received so that Quartermaster can determine the best deal at the best cost. Waiting for meeting with proposed
Motion made and seconded that committee make a decision regarding the awarding of the bookkeeping contract. Amendment to motion that Committee shall be Manager, Trustee Ben Bunnell, House Chair, Quartermaster, Post Commander. Seconded.
Motion passed.
Motion made to pay for gambling license application by Seconded. Discussed. Passed.

Motion made for the adjutant to cast a unanimous ballot for any unopposed office. Passed.

New Business:
Motion made to dispose of an oven in, the kitchen that is only partially working. Seconded. Passed.
Discussion of Direct TV and Dish TV situation, costs, programming. Discussed.
Motion made and seconded to have the Post pay for half of the cleaning of the drapes in the Post meeting room. Cost $94.00. Passed.
Motion made for the VFW to join the Chamber of Commerce. Cost $125 per year plus $25 initial fee when joining. Benefits include exposure to the public, new arrivals at the base, etc. Passed.
Mike Pierzchala states new exit signs will be installed. Possibly new post sign. He also has some military relics that he is offering to the Post with the consideration that it be locked to avoid theft.
Stan Gearheart has volunteered to be the Breakfast Committee chairmen. Jim Glascow is proposing twice a month breakfasts.
Motion made to have breakfast twice monthly instead of once. Seconded for discussion. Considerable discussion held. Steam table topic brought up also. Motion failed at this time.
Good Of The Order:
Jim Glascow checked into the possibility of using the V-Dome for renting booths for swap meets, garage sales, etc. Jim will check further into expenses, and other possibilities using the V-Dome.
Ben Bunnell requested that we support the Oak Harbor Garden Club in their upcoming activities.
Ben also asked about ways to contact other members to advise them about upcoming acvtivities.
Jim Glascow talked about ways to get the people back into the club as was in the past.
Mike Pierzchala volunteered to play DJ on Saturday nights. No charge. Chris Kinkel commented on same subject. Discussion held regarding the situation.
