Commander Cecil Pierce called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

Committee Reports

Adopt-A-Road: Clean up held, three turned out, 22 bags of trash. Next one in November. Request more personnel show up.

Bowling: None. No interest in Post.

Membership/Buddy Poppy: 82.77% membership, 714 life, 18 new, 6 reinstatements, 855 total.

Building: New vinyl going into kitchen. Some metal strips will be purchased. Estimated to be $56.

Golf: None

Land & Rec: None

House: Big dead tree down, almost all cleaned up. Christie Conklin and Sherry Vogelman have been cutting grass, thank them.

VOD/Youth Essay: Forms out to schools. Approved in Oak Harbor Schools. VOD Dinner on December 10 at district meeting.

Trustees: Interim audit not done, will be rescheduled for later this month.

Fundraising: Texas Hold’ Em scheduled for this weekend. Volunteers needed. Tuesday night Poker night being planned for October 3 start. Hours being scheduled. $15 dollar buy in. Weekly 50/50 drawing will start in November.

Surgeon/Hospital: No report

House: New pull tab rules posted, old tabs taken to the dump. Committee recommends no pursuit of Thursday dinners due to lack of participation by members. Lack of business on Sunday may suggest reducing the hours.

Upcoming Events: Texas Hold ‘Em, Thursday night dinner, blood drive in December.

50/50 drawing won by Ivy Connely, donated to general fund.

Unfinished Business:

Restroom cleaning without campground host. Motion made to allow Gordon Pohlena free space in tent city for cleaning campground bathrooms. Seconded by Kinkel. Motion failed. Further discussion required to cover other duties required.

Most of the plaques have been installed on the VOY, death boards.

Bylaws. First draft of the bylaws presented for changes. Motion made and seconded to read only changes to speed up process of review. Much discussion was held regarding changes to draft. Changes to be made for next meeting.

New Business:

Motion made and seconded to close the bare at 8 PM Sundays. Amendment to allow the Club Manager to close the bar at her discretion, but no earlier than 8 PM. Amendment, withdrawn. Main motion tabled for discussion at House Committee meeting.

Motion made and seconded for sports pack top be added to Direct TV service. Motion tabled for further research.

VOY for 2006 were Cecil Pierce and Joan Vogelman.

Motion made and seconded that all monies received from Tuesday night Poker tournament be placed in the Building Fund. Motion passed.

Motion made to add a wall to ladies room to go across South end of the room for office spaces. This is to be a no cost addition to the Post. Seconded. Discussion held. Motion passed 8 to 3.

Good Of The Order

Commander Pierce stated that with all the volunteer commitments, we are short of help. More volunteers are needed .

12 November, the National President of the Women’s Auxiliary will be here for dinner.
