Commander Cecil Pierce called the meeting to order IAW VFW ritual.

Adopt-A-Road: Scheduled for Nov 18th, minor cleanup prior to the Aux Pres visit.
Bowling: None. No interest in Post. Delete Committee.
Membership/Buddy Poppy: 718 Life, 21 new, 6 reinstate, 881 total. 85.29% membership.
Building: Lighting changes in progress. About 85% completed. Kitchen floor repaired, floor work needed in hallway near second rest rooms.
Golf: Nothing happening at this time, January will be main starting point for next year.
Land & Rec: Mowing attempted, weather not co-operating. Aerator donated to Post for next years use.
House: Manager has requested help for many events coming up during the remainder of the year. Health card classes being scheduled. Check board for sheets. New cash register program being investigated which may combine many activities into one easy to use system.
VOD/Youth Essay: 14 entries at this time. Over 200 entries for youth essay contest have been turned in. Two teacher award applications received. All judging is on schedule at this time. All entrants will be given a certificate of appreciation. Every school in OH District, Christian Schools, Coupeville Schools and members of the home schooling community have entered.
Trustees: Quarterly audit performed, all reports sent to proper authorities.
Fundraising: Texas Hold’ Em is scheduled for 12 November, 1 PM. Volunteers needed. 50/50 drawing is now operating. All members have numbers as assigned. Only members in good standing allowed to sign in. Carry over pot if not won.
Surgeon/Hospital: No report.
Upcoming Events: Texas Hold ‘Em, Thanksgiving dinner, blood drive in December. Early bird dinner this month. Discussion of purchases for dinners via Post/Auxiliary.

Unfinished Business:
Report made regarding sports pack motion tabled last meeting. Motion returned for action. Motion to add sports pack defeated.
Motion to cover changes only. Bylaw discussion tabled.
New Business:
Motion made (Sill, 2nd Kinkel) to buy 10 baskets for Thanksgiving from Sarr’s. Amendment (Sill, 2nd Kinkel) to read Christmas only, not Thanksiving.
Motion and amendment passed.
Motion made (Sill, 2nd Woolridge) to install metal or wood doors. Discussion held. Changing doors could mean breakage through the windows. Other suggestions include securing liquor bottles at night. Motion withdrawn (Sill).
Motion made (Keith, 2nd Glascow) to give $200 award to the teacher selected in the Teachers Award. Motion passed.
Motion made (Glascow, 2nd Bunnell) to have single item main dish for early bird dinner.
Motion passed.
Brian Wilson nominated for Surgeon.
Motion (Kris, 2nd Keith) made to cast unanimous vote for Surgeon.
