Comrades and Sisters

If you are doing volunteer service out in town such as visiting at the Nursing Homes or driving a Comrade or Sister to a doctor’s appointment, or maybe mowing a Veteran’s lawn, this service counts towards our Post Community Service. If your unsure send it and we’ll determine if it meets the criteria. Please keep track of your mileage, hours and any money spent for gas, lunch, etc and email it to me or Sandy once a month. You can also stop by the Post and fill out a Community Service Report form located in the lobby, or use the link below if that is easier. We thank you for your service and want to see it recognized.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, which manages the memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., is seeking photographs of the more than 58,000 fallen service members whose names are inscribed on its black granite wall. The organization plans to incorporate the pictures in the memorial's planned underground Education Center. Persons with photos they wish to share can contact any FedEx Office store. For more information, visit the fund's Web site at http://www.vvmf.org/.

There is now a computer operating in the Canteen near the jukebox that has Internet access.  If you are in the area temporarily, or just need to check your e-mail, it's ready.  Log in as guest, you're set.  We can't operate a printer due to the high cost of supplies.

FREE POSTCARDS TO OVERSEAS TROOPS

The website Lets Say Thanks, will allow the public to send free personalized postcards to U.S. Troops serving overseas. This can be confirmed by going to SNOPES.COM, the best source on the internet to check on stories of money for emails, and various other rumors and good deals.  Click on the address below, to view the Snopes authentication page on this story.
