WHAT IS A

JUNIOR GIRLS UNIT?

History:

In 1935, the Daughters of the VFW Units were formed under the leadership of National President Winifred Toussaint.  During the following year, 78 units were established.  In June 1942, the name was changed to Junior Girls and eligibility requirements were expanded.  In 2005, Junior Girls Units celebrated their 70th Birthday.  These units are sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary and assist Auxiliary members with their many projects.

Who Are The Junior Girls:

What makes the Junior Girls Units unique is the opportunity to become friends with girls of varied ages.  You will make new friends, learn about helping others, and just have fun at events such as: lock-ins or slumber parties; car washes; walk-thons; clean-up days; father-daughter dinners; skating, swimming, and pizza parties.  You will also have several opportunities to develop leadership skills if you choose to hold an office or serve as a chairman of a committee.
