Minutes of the House Committee meeting 27 September 2006
Meeting was called to order at 1800. Present were Chris Kinkel, Mike Murphy, Stan Gearhart, Rick Hannold, Pete Sill and Bruno Bechold. Also in attendance were the Post Commander, Post Quartermaster and Canteen Manager.
Minutes of the last regular meeting and special meeting were read and approved.
The Canteen Manager gave her report and the financial report was discussed. We need more volunteer help for breakfast on Sunday morning The Manager and Quartermaster Are working to resolve the non-sufficient check list as there are unclear or no records on some of them as to whether or not they have been paid. These were written before our current manager was hired. The Quartermaster will contact our accountant about writing off an advance pay to a past manager which was not recovered before she left. A check for $3800.00 was presented to the Quartermaster for the post by the manager.
Old Business
The subjects of room rental fees and employee duties were tabled until the October meeting. The Ladies Auxiliary grossed about $550.00 on their first Thursday night dinner. After discussing the dinner situation and due to poor volunteer turnout the house committee decided to recommend to the post floor that the post or canteen do not pursue dinners at this time. The ladies may want to continue the dinners.
New Business
,
A letter from Pete Sill requesting a check from the canteen on Saturday, Sept 30 to pay for dumping old pull tabs. The check would be written to Island County Solid Waste. A motion was made and passed to do this. We must be careful of the amount of weight in the dumpster as we have been paying overweight fees. The Quartermaster will check with Island Disposal as to why we are being charged as we didn't have these charges when we had two dumpsters. The manager is having a problem with unruly pull tab players. The rules for pull tab playas per the Washington State Gambling Commission will be posted and adhered to in the canteen.
There was not anything to discuss under the Good of the Order therefore the meeting was adjourned at 1850.
Chris Kinkel
House Committee Chairman.
