Minutes of the House Committee meeting of 26 Oct 2006
The meeting was called to order at 1830. Present were Chris Kinkel, Pete Sill, Mike Murphy, Bruno Bechold, Rick Hannold and Stan Gearhart. The Post Commander, Quartermaster and Canteen Manager were also present. The minutes of both of September meeting were read and approved.
Manager's Report
The manager requested assistance for upcoming events in the post over the next couple of months as there are several parties and VFW activities scheduled. $4000.00 was presented to the post. There was no finance report available at this time. Discussions were held on New Years Eve activities. There will be something planned for New Years and notification will be sent to the membership. The manager will be scheduling a class for health cards in the near future. A motion was made and seconded to pay the manager' $200.00 per month back pay from July and $100.00 for June. After discussion the motion passed. A motion was made and seconded that all pull tabs will remain in the canteen area. Any pull tabs discovered outside of the canteen area will be void and no payouts will be paid nor will refunds be made. All pull tabs possessed by that person will be surrendered to the bartender. After discussion the motion passed. NSF checks are in the QMs possession and three more came in today.
Old Business
The Quartermaster presented information on a new cash register program and equipment yhat will take care of all of the canteen functions including cash transactions of food, drinks and pull tabs. The program also inventories product, acts as a time clock for employees and performs many other tasks concerning ordering and book keeping. The program is $747.00 with a $99.00 annual renewable license. The initial set up for equipment is $2099.00 with technical support available. A motion was made to purchase the program and equipment and. seconded. An amendment was made and seconded to do this after the first of the year' 2007. Discussion was held and the amendment passed which passed the original motion. This program is licensed by the VFW and is tailored to VFW Post canteen needs. ,;,
