Meeting of the House Committee

January 17, 2007

Called to order at 1800.

Members in attendance:

Minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.

Minutes of the special meeting read and accepted.

Results of last nights audit were presented by Quartermaster. As of December 31, $25.76 more showed in the bank than on the books. Gambling account is $0.01 off for last three months. Some discrepancies in petty cash noted.

Motion made to write off any current discrepancies in petty cash. Seconded, passed.

Discussion held regarding Pete Sill stepping down while Sandy Sill is temporary manager. Committee decided no, as she is temporary.

Managers report for one day of service. Question on repayment for food and materials for Senior Christmas Party, Thanksgiving, and Christmas dinners, from the Post. Quartermaster stated Thanksgiving income paid for the dinner. Discussion on separating the Ladies Auxiliary, Post, and Canteen food inventories. Post still owes for Seniors dinner, other two were a wash, covered. Temp manager and Quartermaster will work together to resolve items.

Old Business

Janitorial Contract. Contract presented for committee to review. Will be printed out and reviewed next meeting. Current janitor will continue on a verbal contract until a written contract is approved.

Banquet Room Contract. Contract gone over and changes were made. After long discussion, document saved for review on the Post floor. Motion made, seconded, passed to take revised contract to Post floor for action.

 

New Business:

Motion made and seconded to retain Sandy Sill as interim manager at the rate of $462.00 per week. Passed, Pete Sill abstained.

Commander Pierce presented some feedback from bartenders and general comments. Too much complaining, chewing bartenders, patrons badmouthing, etc. These actions must stop. Commander would like House Committee to bring course of action to Post floor. No patron, especially after drinking, shall tell bartenders how to run the bar or make disparaging remarks about other patrons. Regulation regarding expulsion may not be clear. Discussion of repercussions for reporting personnel.

Good Of The Order:

Bonus for future Manager excellence raised by Jim Glascow. This is controlled by the Managers Agreement.

Pull Tab training will be held via video tape. This is also available to House members. Pete Sill encouraged committee members to view tape to better understand the gambling aspect of the canteen.
