Managers Report -
Manager as previous plans for a vacation, ticket refunds not available. This was planned before accepting the Manager position. Debbie will be handling the position until return. Dates from 2 – 8 March. No pay vacation time, understood by management. Seven applicants replied to the advertisement, only one met club standards, that one failed to show up for the interview. Would like a Volunteer OOD to check ID’s etc. until Managers health improves.
Quartermaster reports:
Darcy reports that Post is in violation of gambling laws and can expect a fine. This may be minimized by State if we can prove major changes. Fine is for sloppy bookkeeping, over/under problems, etc. These problems are not just from the recent days, but dates back a couple years. Information is being passed and we have developed a reasonable rapport with the State. Too much information being passed to State from bookkeeper. Jones has been sending Managers report to State, should be going to the House Committee chair.
Meeting closed for presentation of statement by guest patron, Scott Lee. Patron stated he was here with his girlfriend. States there was no altercation here. She told him here that she told him to depart the communal home, wrong place, wrong time. States he would not dishonor the Post with personal problems. Will provide address for committee to contact him regarding the disposition.
Old Business:
Janitorial Contract. Janitor to be told to stop cleaning by the Post Commander. Needs to return Janitor keys.
Chairman states that Sheriff’s department will be investigating the incident of monetary losses. They have requested information regarding access.
Security system. Skip presented information regarding the cost of surveillance system and computer system to operate same. Approximately $575.00 cost. Motion made and seconded to table project due to current funding. Table until 14 March. Passed.
NSF Checks. Five more checks. Four of previous checks have been collected. Membership number and phone number need to be on checks. Discussion of means of collection held, including notification of National Headquarters. Check cashing policy read from bylaws.
Audit not completed, cannot be finished until accountant returns the books. As soon a s they are returned, audit can be completed.
New Business:
Pete Sill prepared sheet with Manager’s approval regarding emergency reduction in hours for Committee to review. Costs are eating all profits, in addition to past bills currently being paid. (Document attached to printed minutes.) Scheduled events will be covered. Crowded bar would stay open. Pull tab sales not an issue currently.
Motion made that canteen hours be changed to the following: (See attached document)
Sunday – 10 AM to 6 PM, 1 bartender shift.
Monday – Noon to close of dart games. When league is over, hours go to 8 PM.
Tuesday – Thursday - Noon to 8 PM. (One bartender shift)
Friday – Noon to normal time, 2 AM. (Two bartender shifts)
Saturday – 10 AM to 10 PM. (Two bartender shifts)
from February 20th to May 1st 2007. Seconded, passed unanimously.
Information presented regarding changing the bookkeepers. May have one that currently charges about half of the cost of the current costs. Proposal to be requested from new source to compare services and costs.
Good Of The Order:
Fred Bishop presented list of suggestions that could be used to increase income. Some are scheduled, others from the list can be considered. States volume of music on Fridays, drives away some of the older clientele. List was gone over and discussed. Main personal interest is the dancing selections. Thanked for interest and efforts.
Conditions of the kitchen were discussed. Too many people leaving a mess during week. Signs to be posted requesting cleanup after use.
Motion made, seconded, and passed to adjourn.
Meeting adjourned.
