Meeting of the House Committee

Called to order at 1800

Members in attendance:

Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and accepted with minor change to statement regarding hiring of Gordy.  He is hired as weekend relief, not monthly.

Financial Report:

Written financial report presented.

Managers Report:

Manager has check for $2,000, will hold for Quartermaster.  Manager is currently doing janitorial duties, in addition to current duties.  Wishes pay for same.  Post Cdr will handle.  Manage requested raise for one employee.  Post floor will have to unfreeze wages to conform to bylaws.  Sandy now has gambling license.  Darcy has books with needed info.  Contact will be made again for return.

Business:

Stan requested info as to why Sandy has not been given a zero dollar “slate” to start with.  Psot Commander will take for action.

New bookkeeper will start on the first.  Jones will finish the taxes, then new one will start June 1^st.

CINTAS still leaves product on dock, no signatures.  Will be terminated if possible.  Considerable savings can be obtained through Peninsula services.

NSF Checks discussed. 

Old stove still to be removed.  Upper section not reliable.  Training will be held on the new oven.

Motion made and seconded to allow the manager to grant 25 cent raise if Post unfreezes wages.  Raise to be effective next available payday.  Motion passed.

Good Of The Order:

One organization in town hit with smoking violation recently.  Will result in health department inspection.  Need to ensure smoking regulations enforced in this Post.

Gambling license to allow the Texas Hold ‘Em to invite non-members to participate to be purchased.

Stan Gearheart stated that the duties of the House Committee have been stripped from the Committee.  Wants to know why we have a House Committee if the Post is governing the canteen and the committee.  Discussion held.
